Dashboard
The Speech is Cheap Dashboard is the web portal for managing your account, creating and revoking API keys, inspecting billable minutes, and reviewing invoices.
Signing In
Access the dashboard at https://dash.speechischeap.com/.
- Sign-in methods: You can sign in using a one-time email verification code or through Google authentication.
- Match your checkout email: Sign in with the exact email address you used during your Stripe checkout. If you sign in with a different email address, the dashboard displays an Account not linked error.
Usage
The Usage page displays your consumption across all API keys associated with your account.
- Billable minutes: View daily billable minutes broken down by day.
- Date ranges: Filter activity across custom date ranges. All timestamps and daily totals are reported in UTC.
API Keys
Manage your API keys at https://dash.speechischeap.com/keys.
Creating a Key
- Click Create API key.
- Enter a descriptive name that identifies the application, agent, or environment using the key.
- If your account contains more than one billing customer, select the billing customer responsible for the key's charges.
- Copy the generated secret key. The secret is shown only once and cannot be retrieved after you close the dialog. New keys start with the prefix
sk_.
Revoking and Replacing Keys
- Rename a key: Click Edit to change a key's name at any time.
- Revoke a key: Click Revoke and type
REVOKEto confirm. Revocation is permanent and can take a minute or more to apply to every request. - Lost keys: Because secrets cannot be displayed again, if you lose a key, generate a new key, update your application or script with the new secret, and then revoke the old key.
Key Management Best Practices
- One key per service: Create a dedicated API key for each agent, script, or pipeline. If one key is exposed or retired, you can revoke it without breaking other integrations.
- Default billing customer: When an account has more than one billing customer, the selector at the top of the Dashboard sets the default customer for new keys.
Billing
The Billing page shows your subscription and payment records:
- Plan management: Switch between the monthly subscription and pay as you go, or cancel your plan.
- Monthly spend: Review monthly expenditure summaries.
- Invoices: Review past invoices and their payment statuses:
Outstanding: Payment is due or processing.Paid: The invoice has been successfully settled.Void: The invoice has been canceled.Uncollectible: Payment could not be collected.
Account Settings
The Account page lets you view and update your profile information:
- Profile details: Manage your full name and primary email address.
- Security: Manage account passwords and connected sign-in methods (email code or Google).
